We have good intentions, but it’s too much. If you don’t know how to say no, you’re going to get overcommitted. It may be a good thing, but good things can wear you out. Good people can deplete you. It’s all about balance.

Felix was a ruthless, immoral Roman governor over Judea with whom the apostle Paul had the opportunity to share God’s truth. This was a destiny moment for Felix, and he knew he needed to change. God was speaking to his heart. It was vital that he receive the grace of God in order to see what God had in store for his life. He had the opportunity to take a step into his destiny, but he put it off and there’s no way to know if that “convenient” moment ever came. God is speaking to all of us. It may be about an area where we need to grow, come up higher, and make better decisions. We’ve heard it. We keep ignoring it, but it won’t go away. Now is the time to act. Maybe it’s a whisper in your spirit that says you need to stretch, get out of your comfort zone, take a step of faith. Pay attention to the whispers. You are one whisper away from stepping into greater favor, greater influence, greater resources, something more than you’ve imagined.
It’s easy to go through life focusing on our flaws and weaknesses, feeling like we don’t measure up. We let guilt and condemnation weigh us down. When we’ve been through disappointments, dreams haven’t worked out, or people have done us wrong, it opens the door to insecurity and low self-esteem. The enemy uses these things to try to steal our sense of value. He’ll whisper, “Look at the mistakes you’ve made. You don’t deserve to be blessed.” “Look at how people treat you. You’re not valuable.” He loves for you to believe the lie that you’re not worthy. But here’s the key: Your worth is not based on what you have, what family you come from, or how perfectly you live. Your worth is based on the fact that you’re a child of the Most High God. You are not worthy because of what you do, but because of what Jesus did for you. He made you worthy.
God created you in His own image. The apostle Paul says, “You are God’s masterpiece” (Ephesians 2:10). He calls you His prized possession, one of a kind, fearfully and wonderfully made, the Designer’s original. You have royal blood flowing through your veins and are crowned with favor. Now, don’t let how people treat you determine your worth. Don’t let what someone said or how they make you feel cause you to live inferior. They don’t determine your value. They didn’t breathe life into you or choose you before you were formed in your mother’s womb. They can’t make you feel inferior unless you give them permission. Quit giving it to them.
But sometimes we let our weaknesses and areas we need to improve in cause us to feel unworthy. We think that once we get it all together, then we can feel good about who we are. But your worth is not based on your performance. There’s nothing you can do to make yourself more valuable. To be more disciplined, pray longer, and spend more time with your children is good, but that doesn’t make you more valuable. Your value comes from your Creator. Don’t go through life living performance-based, trying to earn your worth. The problem is that you’ll never measure up because we all make mistakes and have shortcomings.
You don’t have to work for it; just believe it and say, “I am forgiven. I am worthy. I am valuable. I’ve been approved by Almighty God.” Every time you say that, you get stronger and more confident. Your self-esteem will increase. Those are the thoughts that need to be playing in your mind throughout the day. Tune out all the lies and get in agreement with what God says about you: you are worthy, you are talented, you deserve to be blessed, you deserve to live an abundant, victorious, healthy, productive, favor-filled life. This is what faith is all about.
