English Version   The picture above shows hydroelectric Hoover Dam, located at the border of Nevada and Arizona in the USA. It was built from 1931 to 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt at a cost of $ 49 million (29 billion CFAF), during the great depression in the USA.   This dam is built on Lake Mead, an artificial lake built by the US government for this purpose; and has a capacity of producing 2080 megawatt (MW) of electricity. Today Hoover Dam generates electricity for   Hoover Dam generates, on average, about 4 billion kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric power each year for use in Nevada, Arizona, and California - enough to serve 1.3 million people.   Compared to many Gabonese rivers, Lake mead is nothing and dozens of Hoover Dams could be built in Gabon. If Gabon had only 2 Hoover Dams, there would be enough energy for the entire population in all 9 provinces.   But in today’s situation, the Kingu é l é dam in Gabon produces 57.6-MW hydropower. T
