Meloe by Teo Cabanel is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Meloe was launched in 2008. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Francois Latty. Top notes are Lemon, Bergamot, Basil, Mandarin Orange and Lavender; middle notes are Neroli, Orange Blossom, Nutmeg and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Woodsy Notes and Amber.

Meloe is a new fragrance by the French house of Teo Cabanel, which was created in 2008. Meloe is a fresh green fruity floral fragrance, which is classic and contemporary.

Méloé’s Epicurian symphony generously draws its top notes from citrus and spices. Bergamot from Calabria, mandarin and lemon from Sicily, lavender and basil play their part in perfect harmony. Thee sparkling citrus notes linger until a dainty floral bouquet of Neroli from Tunisia and jasmine with just a touch of nutmeg comes to full bloom to make up the heart notes. Unexpected sensual base notes of musk, amber and just a hint of woody notes.

The fragrance is available in 50 and 100ml of eau de parfum, a parfum extract of 15ml, and a solid of 2 gr with refill.

Marmoris

Light and charming, but ultimately lacking character and conversation. Tons of fleeting summer colognes out there with more radiance and charisma, for a smaller price tag.

Cherry_Darling

Lovely citrus - zesty, lots of bergamot, soft spices, florals and herbs but just a touch. It's quite soft and quiet, I did get a dabber sample though. Might be different if sprayed all over on a hot summer day. Dries down to a lovely orange blossom / jasmine. Not grounbreaking but still very enjoyable! Office safe.

trabuquera

Middle-of-the-road gently herbalised citrus with fleeting, discreet, French-watercolour charm. The light hand with the lavender, jasmine & basil are just right, everything really nicely balanced and nothing popping out too hard to make itself obnoxious. Clean, bright and calm all over. It could almost be an Ellena Hermessence but for the pitiful performance; its full spectrum lasts barely half an hour and the rest sadly boils away to nothing bar the odd tantalising whiff for maybe 2h maximum - if you're lucky. Lovely but underpowered and really not that unique. One for the super-sensitive or ultra-low-profile minimalists maybe.

DiscoPolga

Inoffensive spicy freshie. Nothing groundbreaking and the staying power is not there. Many more interesting alternatives around. I'd go with Voyage à Saint Paul by Godet (another niche French house) it's a lovely "mediterranean summer" type scent on a realistic cedar base.

Bubbles1964

The orange blossom note is light in this composition, and it helps push the citrus notes more forward. Meloe is an enjoyable, light summer freshie, with herbs and jasmine that dries down into a more predictable musk and wood base.

My guess after reading a few reviews is that different bottles are circulating, and my vial is the EDP and not the body spray version. Solid like.

penguinrabbit

To me it smells like basil and lime (a sadly now defunct ice cream shop near where I used to live did gorgeous basil and lime sorbet which was divine in summer). Doesn't last long, also bit of a musty floral note.

Its pleasant enough and I'll finish my sample but I don't think I'll buy a full bottle.

Do scents tend to give you a headache?
Méloé might be a great choice for you.

Like many have said before me, Méloé is barely there. It's not one of those who start out shy and grow louder and louder – Méloé is truly barely there from start to finish.
What is there, though, is quite lovely. An aldehydic, citrusy, slightly peppery trace which I'm unable to dislike.

The most soft and fleeting scent I’ve probably ever experienced. No depth, no complexity, no staying power. It’s just a very faint natural smelling neroli that’s gone in 60 seconds. Or less. I don’t know what went wrong here but it is possible to create a neroli scent with some depth and lasting power. This one sadly just isn’t it.

This fragrance is like magic.

You spray it on your wrist, bring it closer to your nose in anticipation, and poof! Where did it go?

Even attempting to describe Meloe is an exercise in futility. A hint of bergamot, a hint of neroli, and a whole lot of nothing.

I would strongly advise against buying this. Meloe could be 5 euros and it would still be a completely useless purchase. The fact that it’s 115 is obscene. Get a glass of water from your tap and smell that instead. Even that is a more riveting olfactory experience.

dcjimr

To me a very generic citrusy floral with short longevity. Not bad but not my thing.

pweedyadel

This is definitely not for me. Don’t like the opening but at least warming up to the dry-down although it’s not something I’d purchase a full bottle for. Gotten a sample I’m trying out. If you like a weak citrusy clean smell, then this is your gem. I need to put my nose soo close to my skin to actually smell this. It’s just an okay scent. Nothing groundbreaking.

The house of Teo Cabanel has gone through several changes in packaging to a point that it is getting confusing to track. Case in point, my Meloe comes in a rectangular cylinder with a square cap made of clear plastic and a sealing wax stamp on the bottle. Moreover, it is labeled 'Eau Légère', which translates to 'Light water'. I suppose it is different from the current EDP edition.

Irinaaa

Very weak, no silage
More like a cologne
Way too expensive

Kronstadt

Really lovely citrus and white flower fragrance. Absolutely unisex. The jasmine is prominent for me, although I can also smell lavender. A great hot weather fragrance that opens with a citric blast. Dry down is quite nice and very close to the skin.

Celestya

100% unisex, it is a fresh and clean perfume, perfect for summer. I smell a lot lemon and bergamote with a small touch of lavender. The sillage and longevity are correct for an "Eau de Toilette".
7/10 I will wear it during summer/hot days (all my family will wear it ;)), perfect for holidays, office, etc

MaquiLab

Meloe is a pretty summertime fragrance with fresh citrus notes and barely there lavender - but, as noted by other reviewers, it's a bit generic. We've all tried something simililar before. And it fades away in less than an hour...

maci2222

I have a sample of the eau de legere. This is just fantastic. A very creamy lemony opening. I normally hate lavender and this is just so well done. If I put it on too heavily it loses its greatness, so go easy. A favorite citrus scent.

gtabasso

a lavender fragrance predominantly with lots of citrus and musk; bergamot second then lemon and musk with a little neroli but not sweet and honeyed, just enought to provide a floral element but the lavender and citrus dominate the fragrance; really digging this one

shushkin

A very lovely eau fraiche type of scent. Even though there are only citrus notes listed I do get a slightly sweet fruitiness. The lavender and basil then start to peek through.
For most of its timeline it's more or less a cologne.
Lovely to wear in hot weather but as usual the longevity and sillage is poor. It must be a cologne?

mohsen95

5/10

judiththeobscure

It's more like a splash on cologne. A very light and refreshing citrusy fragrance, to spray after shower.
It's not bad, but fades away quickly (on me, after 15 minutes).

Yestreday i received my samples from Teo Cabanel. Meloe was the firsr I tried.
For me this is the perfect citrus summer scent. Sits somehow 'gentle' on my skin. First came the mandarin and lemon - jucie and fresh- I agree with Mellybee "this is the most beautiful creamy lemon aroma" I've ever worn. After 2 h along with the citruses came the spices nutmeg/basil or this is the feeling that left Meloe on my skin in 4-5 hours. Unfortunatelly I did't detect any trace of flower nor jasmine or neroli... may be better :)
Like it very much, will defenetely order this one for the summer!
Longevity - 5-6 hours, sillage - within arm length.

Lavender Child

The notes of Meloe contain Crystal Moss in the base as described by Teo Cabanel on the sample I received from them.

A windy summer day - what a wonderful description for this!

Cereza

MELOE is a floral fruity you will surely remember. It lasts for good 8 hours and gives a really nice silage lingering around freely, but not becoming overpowering.

MELOE is like a windy summer day, it started with a sugary citrus and mandarin orange combo with bits of neroli and orange blossom. It was not too sweet, but more fresh fruity. The heart arrived with warm jasmine and amber. It dries down to a beautiful amber/citrus base, very light, but noticeable.

I think MELOE is a very good floral fruity choice for summers for those who are too tired for synthetic mess most current floral fruity perfumes offer. This is a nice, natural, breezy and simple perfume. I really cannot imagine someone being offended by this.

possumke

I bought this blind, It is exactly how I imagined it to be, citrusy-fresh, yet soft and feminine. I can inhale this deeply and not have one note disturb my experience.... so well blended and natural smelling, which also sets it apart from most main stream fragrances.
I would say the sillage is very minimal, in fact it is nearly a skin scent on me, but with quite long lasting power.

Mals86

I generally struggle with citrus scents, and traditional cologne-formulas that are meant to be refreshing, like this one. But I found it light and pleasant, and indeed very refreshing: not too floral, not too lemony, not too fleeting.

It was even better on my daughter, and makes a wonderful alternative to the fruity-syrupy stuff her friends are wearing.

mellybee

When I read the notes I thought "another insipid fruity floral" but actually Meloe was better than I had expected.
It is a delicate, very pleasant, fresh fragrance of fruity floral notes with an ambery sillage and aquatic nuances. (Meloe is actually an eau fraiche)

The top note, a gentle and luminous lemon aroma (the most beautiful creamy lemon aroma what I've ever experienced and it doesn't turn into masculine on me, hurray!), mingles with the delicious freshness of mandarin orange zest to add more sparkle to the fragrance as it gently blends with the mild spicy bergamot note. The lemon keeps lingering, even when the sweet seductive orange blossom reveals itself in the heart.

Like a summer day falling into the evening, the initial sumptuousness of the citruses softens into the gentle ambery base; it also includes just a little pastel wood and white musk note, making the fragrance a bit powdery and still sensuous.

I could imagine Meloe blossoming in the balmy summer air, and it seems like perfect choice those days.

Hi,

I discovered Méloé a few days ago and I am afraid to tell you that both women & men can wear it!
Indeed, I share it with my wife!!

Moreover, it sadly doesn't exist in extract or solid perfume...

Nevertheless, it's an amazing creation you can have during summer and winter (thanks to the warm bottom notes!)
