Ralph Nader Predicts Billionaire 3rd Party Candidates In 2016 (VIDEO)

Ralph Nader Issues Prediction On 2016 Campaign

Former presidential candidate Ralph Nader discussed the possibility of billionaire candidates running for president during a Monday appearance on CSPAN, predicting that a wealthy third-party candidate will emerge in the next presidential race.

"We'll have the usual Green Party and libertarian parties in 2016," Nader said. "But there are some mega-billionaires who are seriously considering running third party."

Nader noted that all wealthy candidates needed to do to fund their campaigns is "write a check for themselves," citing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a potential example.

"When someone like Mr. Bloomberg’s worth $27 billion, to write a $500 million check and not have to dial for dollars, not have to be beholden, tends to be attractive to a lot of voters," Nader said.

Nader also pointed to billionaire Ross Perot, who famously ran for president as an independent in 1992 and 1996.

Nader ran for president as the Green Party candidate in 1996 and 2000, and as an independent in 2004 and 2008.
