It is October and time for dark and beautiful things…
This year, I was captivated by the complicated character of Vanessa Ives from Penny Dreadful. Composed, stately, yet dark and wild, Vanessa Ives is full of mystery.

This is a pattern for the month of October featuring a crescent shaped shawl, with lace, nupps, and beads. Perfect for a gift or perhaps for upcoming holiday parties. Lacy and elegant, positively feminine. There are a little over 100 rows, so you can change the size, with your yarn weight. You will also need approx 720 beads, sized 6/0 or 8/0. In addition, there is a simple crocheted edge option.
This shawl was specifically designed for Wolle’s color changing yarn. (how to order)

Don’t forget to check in with the bunnymuff group, if you have any questions or would just like to show off your knit!
Please note, some of the finished shawl images (to the left) show a variety of different edge techniques and extensions, not included in this pattern. I encourage you to visit their project pages and see what they did. Some really cool ideas! Thanks to loerienator and her Vanessa, there are 3 extension charts beginning at row 77. These are included in this pattern as a separate doc. (if you bought the pattern before March 2016, there is a mistake in the extended rows KEY, on the last chart, refer to KEY from original pattern) Please, see her project to see what she did!!
