European Continuing Medical Education (CME)

https://www.uems.eu

Take and pass our 34 ELMs and earn up to 60 ECMECs free of charge! These ELMs can only be taken once a year. In case you fail, you will have to wait for the next year to take them again!Make the most of it all and improve your professional skills and expertise! The ELMs made available on https://websurg.com/en/cme/ and organized by IRCAD - WebSurg are accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the European CME credits (ECMECs) for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (EUMS). A total of 34 WebSurg e-learning modules (ELMs) have been accredited by the EACCME since 2002, ensuring that credits acquired through our platform are recognized at a European level. This accreditation certifies the quality and relevance of our educational and surgical content.

Each medical specialist should claim credits based solely on the time they actually spent in the educational activities. Only those e-learning materials that are displayed on the UEMS EACCME website have formally been accredited. These CME credits are delivered for free by WebSurg to surgeons who have taken and passed the tests in the e-learning modules section successfully (80% of correct answers required to pass each test) - in case of test failure, the candidate will have to wait 1 year to retake the test.

Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and the American Medical Association (AMA), physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at https://edhub.ama-assn.org/pages/applications.

Of note, 1 point is delivered for 1 hour of training completed for the chosen self-study activity corresponding to the individual e-learning modules (ELMs). WebSurg members can take one test to obtain one CME credit or more (until 3 CME credits per individual ELM). At the end of the test, if it is completed successfully, the user will be delivered a certificate to print out.

EACCME credits

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The delivery of the certificate of attendance is linked to the successful completion of an initial WebSurg registration form and self-study test. The CME provider has defined the criteria for taking and passing the test.

Accreditation validity

EACCME accreditation for our e-learning modules (ELMs) was launched on April 30, 2019. Terms of approval were valid for 2 years (April 30, 2019 to April 30, 2021). Applications for the renewal of these e-learning modules have been made in May 2021. They have been reaccredited as of June 8, 2021. Brand-new e-learning modules have been accredited as of June 8, 2021. Term of approval is for 2 years from this date (between June 8, 2021 and June 8, 2023).

Instructions

01
Participation in each of the self-study activities should be completed in up to 3 hours maximum, depending on the e-learning modules.  To successfully complete one self-study activity and receive credit, participants must follow these steps during a 2-year period from the date when accreditation for the e-learning modules has been approved.
02
Make sure that you have provided all the necessary data and your date of birth on the registration form. WebSurg and the EACCME Secretariat of the UEMS require this information in order to grant credit and issue a certificate. If you have not provided this information, please click here.
03
Review the learning objectives.
04
The e-learning activity can only be taken once in a year. Please make sure that you have thoroughly studied the activity before you take the Multiple Choice Questionnaire(s).
05
Read and participate in the educational self-study activity online.
06
Read, complete, and submit the answers to the post-test multiple choice questions online. Participants must receive a test score of at least 80% and respond to the evaluation questions in order to receive credit and a certificate.
07
A transcript or CME log monitors the completed educational self-study activities on WebSurg.
08
When you are finished, please click "submit".
