Off-duty firefighter busted for threatening teen with imitation gun: cops

An off-duty FDNY firefighter was busted for allegedly menacing a random teen with an imitation pistol during a squabble in Brooklyn, according to cops and police sources.

Firefighter Eric Wachter, 33, allegedly threatened the 19-year-old, whom he did not know, with the weapon during an argument around 11:30 p.m. Monday in Old Mill Basin.

Wachter was arrested on scene around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment, authorities said.

The nature of the dispute was unclear Tuesday morning.

A department spokesman confirmed the FDNY has received notification of Wachter’s arrest and is in the process of gathering the paperwork.

Once the paperwork has been reviewed, Wachter could face suspension, the spokesman said.

Wachter was appointed to the FDNY in June 2018 and is assigned to Engine 5 in Manhattan. He previously worked for the department as an EMT, for which he was appointed in June 2010.Â
